I grew up of course thinking of the Masters as the high point in golf, and in many ways, it still is. But the more I learned about the exclusionary history of the club, and in the context of ever increasing income disparity, gender equity issues, and the politics of the wealthy in general, I have a hard time not feeling like the whole event is tainted. Add to that the club's total control of the broadcast coverage, including the several days leading up to the tournament, and I get tired of it all. Show me a Champion's Tour event or something else! It was fun watching the ANA last week! I have a granddaughter who played in college and will kick my butt. Anyway, just venting. There're too many examples of these disparities in our country, and OMG, the world in general.
But I'll end up watching most of the tournament.
