Good of you to remind the folks, Liz.
I know that any donation, even small, will be appreciated by Al.
I sent in my original 'commitment' (that I had joined Pat in doing), some time ago.
Hit the green "Donate" button and send some money. I'm not rolling in dollars but even I managed to send a donation. Even a few bucks will let Al know that you care. He's not going through the best of times right now.

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
I must have missed something...
Whats going on and why are we donating?
And right now Al is going through a hard time so he would appreciate a donation now more than usual.

Ofcourse we love this forum (where would we all be without this amazing resource of help, tips and ideas...).
I won't mind donating at all, I wash just a bit worried (an honestly curious, but I respect his privacy).
Forums like this don't survive anymore without the devoted efforts of core members. Al bought and is the owner of this online space, and I doubt he expected to make much off of it, but it is not free to operate, and actually requires some "employee" time in the background you never see. So, regardless of the fact Al is dealing with issues relating to aging family, it costs money to operate the forum. There is no real advertising here if you become a member (for free), and vetted sponsors pay a bit to be listed as such. Otherwise, this forum is what members make it. No tracking, targeting, etc. I'm reminded of the local co-op. Think about how you spend $25. Why not here? Click and donate.
PS. Most everyone you encounter as a forum moderator is a non-paid volunteer.
