Wow, beautiful pics Pat!! You captured some incredible images that really communicate wonderfully what you saw in person. Thanks for taking us with you by sharing your journey with us mate! Very cool
I went on a trip to the SouthWest to Page AZ, Kayenta, AZ and Bluff, UT. It was a week long with long days. It was so much fun. I shared the trip with a local photo bubby but I already knew most of the people on the tour since they are from my local camera club. So here you go...lots of rocks
Sunrise near Page Az.
Sunrise over Navajo Mountain
Hoodoo formation near Page AZ
Scenic Pano from the sunrise location
Slot Canyon called Secret Canyon
Slot Canyon near Page AZ - Into the light
Which Way to Go?
Guardian of the Canyon
Al, know that this guy is. It was about a foot long.
Skittish lizard near Page AZ and this was the best I could do. Appears to be a type of Chuckwalla lizard (that was the closest I could find to an id).

Haha, that's super cool, we have 5 more days to journey together through your images. Giddyup!!!
Wowzers, the depth detail is incredible!
I spent many trips to Utah, Arizona and the 4 corners region and it is all breathtaking! Every square inch is a different rock formation than the last. If you study up on the formation and geological history of the Colorado Plateau, you can understand why and how this wonder exists!
As "Red" Redding once said, "It's all about pressure and time"... I'm glad you had the chance to take this trip!!!

Where else are you headed, you are so close to the North Rim, if you are headed there you are in for an amazing view. My wife and I spent 3 weeks out west two years ago. Racked up nearly 4500 miles in that time.
Sweet, I'm a patient man Pat...at your leisure
Thanks Brian, I actually do want to study up on how the formations and place came to be how it looks today. During the trip ancient volcanoes and being at the bottom of the ocean were mentioned. The places we visited were just spectacular and everywhere was different. I went as both a tourist and a photographer. I do want to go back.

We visited both North and South rim on our trip. If you are going to pick just one to see I strongly recommend the North Rim. We stayed at the lodge in one of the log cabins. You will need to book a year in advance for peak times. We went near the end of the season, when it wasn’t so crowded. Pictures do not do it justice, I know I tried!
The inside cave/ secret canyon photos looks almost sureal Pat . Hat off for your photo skills .
