Is this a SAN merah
No. It's close but San Merah are stripeless. The strain is made by crossing one like yours to a Ghost.

Ok then what is mine called
I believe you have a ROSE RED. Do a search on it. Ron
This type of discus is often sold as Alenquer or just brown discus too . Rose reds and san-merahs IMO , should be slightly more reddish than the discus on this photo and with less pronounced bars .
Yeah, once you see a San Merah you will never have any doubt. I see some on the internet saying that they are selling them but then you see a picture with bars often. That's what I think really confuses a lot of people. Regardless, that's my style of fish you have right there and I think it's beautiful!

SanMerah from the grandmaster creator, the late Hai Khoon Tan. Imo the best red.
It's a beautiful fish. You won't be seeing any for sale in the States, though. I'm sure that it is a show fish. It has almost no conformation faults and the color is amazing. Please remember when a breeder has prospective show fish he does everything in his power to make it present itself as well as it can in a show. This includes hormones. I'm not making any accusations but I know from experience that this is the case.
Proggester"s fish is a very good fish. If it were mine I'd be looking for a suitable mate for it. Someone who knows how should turn his pics so that they are straight.

The photo is a rare full red san merah from Hai Khoon Tan, the creator of the San merah. The facebook post where he posted this is below.

Don't take everything you read on the internet as gospel. IMHO it is a beautiful show fish but not a San Merah.

Appears to be a Striped Alenquer which also has blue along the back and into the fins.
exactly. Even the fins are red. They don't drug test fish so this is what we get. Bet you a nickle it won't live a long life.
