Cycle with new sump

Hi all,

I have been thinking of running a closed system for maybe up to 2-3 pairs and babies. I do change my water, for adult 30-50% daily and 100% for babies. If i convert to a sump system, do I want to do the cycle first or just continue with my WC and introduce them to the sump and let the BB build slowly overtime?

Hi John, you could just move some cycled material to the sump to help jump start it. You will most likely have a mini-cycle which you can control with WCs.
