I'd still not treat if I didn't see symptoms. If you want to, go ahead.
My tank is bb beside a bit of sand that has escaped my moving bed filter.

I would suggest Angelfish Plus for Levasol https://angelsplus.com/collections/f...misole-hcl-100 vs ordering the large animal version.

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Most pet stores carry Quick Cure. Maybe they have it as Formalin. If not, Ken's fish has it. https://www.kensfish.com/aquarium-su...uick-cure.html

Thank you guys!
So I have not gotten the meds you recommended in yet.
however I have been dosing one pack of maracyn two and, a squirt of acurel heathguard, to every feeding. Letting it soak in as the frozen cubes of beef heart defrost in a cup of tank water.
I've been feeding beef hearts only. I feed 2 times daily. And I have stopped feeding them blood worms altogether. "I've heard they are a major cause of health problems"
Now looking for a good source of black worms as a replacment.
Since treatment has began I've increased water changes to every other day, doing 30% water change of cold water. Also found out that one of my heaters was broken and the tank temp was at 78 degrees. Since I have replaced the heater and thermometer the tank is now back at 85 degrees.
My blue pair just laid eggs for the first time in several months! in the same community tank as the other pair that are breeding!
Also just got my rodi system in today, and in the process of building a brine shrimp hatchery!

Don't throw meds at them when you don't know what your doing. Don't do anything for now other than good clean water. Also don't get ahead of yourself. Your pair hasn't even spawned and you're making a brine shrimp hatchery. It's not like Discus will breed on command.
I can tell that you're excited. I wish you good luck.

After advice on here I went to fish store to get said medicine.
I medicated the food based on fish store recommendations. " I guess I did jump the gun a bit on that part"
I'm building a hatchery I did not say I was producing shrimp.
Thank you for your guidance, it has helped a ton!
Also I've been planning to breed discus for years I have already half way set up a grow out/breeding rack in my house. With several tanks and overflows ect... I've had all my discus in a community tank so they can grow out and pair up as per usual recommended method
.
Out of 6 discus I ended up with two pairs so I feel pretty lucky on that
I'm not currently worried about any fry surviving. I'm just gearing up my operation. Since my pairs are finally starting to breed. And trying to get all info and guidance possible before I actually start raising the fry!

Which brings me to my next question that i was previously unaware of. The PB/BD pair, I was told will produce many heavily peppered fry.
What are the odds of a pure PB, BD, or hybrid being produced.
Which stage should undesirable fish be culled. Will it be recognizable at a early Fry stage?
Just wonder my blue pair has never had stress bars. What strain would cause this or just good line breeding?
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
I guess they must be pretty happy then? Idk I've never seen them display bars in the years I've had them. I really like the look of no bars and want to keep thier babys the same way if possible.
Could it be that they are crossed with a green discus so the bars are tan instead of black?

Looks like my proven pair have a few eggs that are going to hatch!
Getting the black spots on half of them.
