Im so terrible guessing size of fish. Here is a video I took last week. They are about to be moved to a 180 gallon this next week. They have outgrown this tank. There are four in the group. I wanted more but that's all they had at the time.

Wow Pat , there's a lot of new and interesting stuff going on in your house lately . They look simply , gorgeous. They look almost fully grown here , how big and old are they supposed to be ATM ? What are they , wilds , F1 ?

I would love to see them in a tank with sand , Driftwoods and a lot of plants, once you get them to full growns .
Don't know why , but I imagine a lot of Jungle Val (Valisneria ) in the background floating it's long thin leaves all along the surface in a peat stained tank .

The Rio Vichada population is unique in that it is found in a clearwater environment, rather than being restricted to blackwater like Orinoco/Negro/Atabapo altum. The spotting is also unique in that it appears even on the small fish. Being found in clearwater may be one of the reasons these acclimated so much more easily than altum usually do.

I'm guessing if they grow as large as other types of altum, these are nowhere near "grown."

Filip, read Ryan's post for a little history on these guys and Ryan is right, they are nowhere near grown. Guessing about halfway grown. When I tried to find out a bit about them I found what Ryan posted above. I found nothing about them on YouTube so guessing they are not available often.

    Thanks Ryan for the information.

This year was the first time they’d ever been imported. It’s a new collection point.

Moved these guys to a larger tank. They really needed the room. Not a great vid and they were not ready to let me get close.

I haven't Danny but maybe with those guys These guys are too young and only half grown. Breeding Altums is very difficult. Only one guy in the US has breed them successfully.

These are so nice Pat. I always wanted to put some Altums in with some discus in a really large tank.
