Discus not eating, getting skinny
I have 2 Red Melon Discus that have not eaten in about 3 weeks now. They’re starting to get skinny and 1 is breathing a little heavy. They were in a 90 gallon tank with 2 AC110s and a FX5 canister filtering it. 7 other Discus were in their tank ranging in size from 4 to 6 inches. Along with 2 Golden nugget Plecos and a few rams, which are all doing fine. Water parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and 10 Nitrates. PH is around 7.6. Temperature 85 degrees. I’ve always changed 50% of tank water 2 times a week. There’s also about an inch of gravel in this tank. A few days ago I put them in a 55 gallon tank with 2 AC110s filtering it and raised the temp to 92 degrees. No change in their condition. Is there some meds or epson salt I can give them. I’ll try and post some pics later. Thanks.

Have you treated for hex using metro? The heat may still work. It takes 10 days to complete a heat treatment and it's more effective if you use metro. Have you noticed white feces?

Thank. Have not noticed any white feces. Maybe I should get the metro and use that too.

Just got some Metro.. Going to do a big water change first. Can I use Epson Salt along with the Metro. Would that help even more?

Epsom salt certainly won't disrupt the metro treatment, especially once they start eating again after not pooping for so long it may help move things through...
