    Default Is this the norm?

My 90g tank has been going for 2 years. I started with 10 Discus from Kenny and have had 4 die. I now have one swimming face down or rolling on it's side. I thing I will probably lose that one too. The rest grew out and look fine. I do WC 2x a week at 50%. Anyone have some ideas that might help?

No, that is not at all normal. Start by filling out the disease questionnaire. Then we can help you. It's impossible to know what's wrong without information.

It does not seem unusual to me. I lost 2 of of 5 that I ordered last October. A friend who has raised discus for more than 40 years recently lost 3 large 7 inch fish within a few weeks this past month. Within the animal kingdom survival of the fittest is always the rule. Sam,e true within the various strains of discus. For example the Heckel.

    Something to that peewee.
I've always thought that blue diamonds were a weak looking fish.
And with all the additives and poor breeding habits now a days this might very well be becoming the norm.

I disagree with both of you. If the Discus are given proper conditions they do not get sick and die.

I agree w Liz, especially since several died in a short time. If only one had died, then maybe, but two or three???? Check your parameters.....something may have changed. PH, KH, GH, NH3, NO2, NO3, gaspockets, new plants or fish just to name a few. If I lost a seemingly healthy single fish, I’d check it all out. Losing more than one is a red flag issue for sure. They do die obviously, but not naturally in multiple numbers. Keep us informed and good luck.
