Thanks Liz - so the colors held up and they have more color than the German Blues?
Mine are more aggressive than the german blues but they should only go after one another. I don't imagine the Discus will be bothered by their activity in a tank that size and with that stocking.

Yes. I couldn't be more pleased with them. Well...If they would spawn I would be more pleased but that's up to them.

Thanks Liz. I am torn between some regular German Blues from the Coral Bandit breeder who seems to have excellent stock and the Dutch Rams from Tristen. Do you by chance have some more pics of yours? They seem to be a little darker than the Germans - correct? Thanks.
I don't but you can ask Tristan if he can take more pics of his. He did it for me. If I get in the mood, I'll head to the fish room with the camera and see what I can do. They move fast so it can be hard to get a decent shot. I don't think I'd say that they are darker than the German blues, just more intense in coloration.

Very nice Liz. I really like the Dutch colors best.

If the discus are happy, I’m happy
I think I am going to go with some from the Coral Bandit guy. He has some amazing Rams including some black/GBR hybrids. Also, it looks like he has a really high quality and clean breading operation.
Send me a link to his page if you don't mind. You've got me interested now.

I got my rams from him. He's on AB. I've got some nice electric blues and a GBR pair
I got a pic of my GBR's today. I think in the background you can see their eggs in the potted plant.

Yes, I see the eggs. I envy you. For me if they're not producing fry they have no value to me. Other than the fact that you have babies, I like mine better. They are way more colorful.
Mama Bear
OK, but they're nice anyway.
They arenice, and they're breeding which is more than I can say for mine.

Liz, are the Dutch ones known for being more difficult to breed? My germans, highly domesticated, won't stop laying in my tank. What really triggered them was a temp jump from running at about 27-28 degrees C to 30-31 degrees C. They sat at the lower temp for a couple of weeks. (sorry not down with degrees F).
My tank - http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?135251-coopers-6x2x2&highlight=
Not to my knowledge. I think it's something I'm doing wrong. I think I'll take Pat's advice and put the 2 pairs together in the same tank again.
