Default Will Assassin snails eat eggs?

Assassin snails are carnivores, and if you run out of snails to feed them they'll look elsewhere. I assume they'd eat eggs if given the chance, but can fish fend them off? Angels, rams, bristlenose, maybe discus,...?

Not the original question, but will they eat snail egg masses?

They will absolutely egg fish eggs come lights out. Good pleco parents can keep them at bay, but kicked eggs or fry will be eaten.

My BN's try to suck them out of their shells if they get uppity with trying to get on their algae wafers. The discus don't pay them much attention but I don't know if they would defend their eggs. I'm don't know if they will eat snail egg masses but they will definitely eat the snail that laid those eggs.

My shrimp/BN tank is developing a snail problem after receiving some plants so I ordered some assassins. I'll keep an eye on their progress and hopefully they won't cause any damage to the desirables.

Something happened to me this morning. I had BN eggs that dad had kicked out of the cave. I don't have assassin snails, but my Mystery snails went for them in a big way.

I have 8 snails arriving today. It's only one 75 gal tank with the problem. Is 8 going to be too many for that tank? I could put some in other tanks eventually (quarantine), but would probably have to feed them. I guess I could feed them in the one tank, just more waste.

No problem with 8 in a 75. I have probably 40+ in a 90. They only breed when food is abundant and they breed slowly. In the absence of other snails they will eat any meaty food and I've seen them eating algae wafers too.

Do the other snails know the assassins are there? The assassins went in yesterday, and today I'm seeing more of the others on the tank side walls and even near the top. I'm probably just more aware of them, but just wondering. And I don't actually see the assassins. Hiding somewhere.

Mine buried themselves early on but seem bolder now. The assassin's certainly know the other snails are there so I assume they do too. If they are MTS check your temp, I've seen them shooting to the top of the tank when I had a heater go haywire.
