    Default Sterilizing/cleaning plants

I am getting in some large Amazon Swords, probably from the source in So. America. I want to pot them up to put into my bare bottom discus tank. Now I need to know how to make them safe to go in. I don't want any snails or parasites or other stuff on them. All I know to use is Alum or light bleach solution. But am unsure of how much, how long, etc. I sure don't want to kill my new investment accidentally. Or do I need to quarantine them in another tank for months? Thanks for advice,
    Barb

Potassium permangate dip would be best. Google has a number of readings, or YouTube. Dip, rinse, and plant.

20 to one water to bleach solution. Swish them around well and follow with a swish in de-chlorinated water.

Thanks Frank and Liz, now to choose which one. Or maybe do both.
