    Default Meet Hope

We recently welcomed an allergy friendly addition to our family. She is a tricolor Golden Mountain Doodle (expensivemutt, lol). Our 2 sons named her. She's a lot of fun...and work atm, but she's beautiful and we love her. Her eyebrows captivated my heart and I was done for!

She is indeed beautiful. I can see the bermese mountain dog in her and the Poodle. Is there golden retriever in the mix?

Thanks Liz! Yes, her mom is BMD x Golden R, dad is a standard poodle. The GR is really displayed in her temperament & personality. She is VERY social, loves cuddles and playing fetch, and appears super intent on pleasing us. She is a true tender heart!

Thx Pat!! We were told 40-60#. Her feet are like bear paws so I'm thinking on the 60 end of that potential for sure. She is already 25#'s @ 15 weeks...

Hi Danny, time will tell but suspect she will be closer to 80-90 pounds but still a bunch of love in that package She is really favoring the BMD side of her parents.

    What a gorgeous pup!

We had a golden retriever when i was growing up, he really was amazing. Such a gentle, intelligent dog. He was also the biggest golden i've ever come across, close to 50kgs/110lbs in his prime when getting a lot of exercise chasing frisbees. My folks currently have a purebred standard poodle and a rescue miniature poodle (my dad is super allergic to dogs), and they have stunning personalities. I haven't had much interaction with BMDs but have heard nothing but good things. Combining the 3 sounds like a winning combination.

Best of luck with her, i'm sure she will be a welcome and engaging addition to the family

Thanks Pat & Kean! I would be totally stoked if she was closer to 90#'s. Time will show us, that is for certain!

Danny, Think of the expense of grooming a 90 lb hair dog!!! If you want enough hair for the dog to look it's best it will need regular maintenance. Most people don't think about that when they get a large dog with hair. Most just have it shaved off when it got out of hand. When I groomed big dogs, that was most often one shaving a year whether whether the dog needed it or not

Thanks Liz...we had budgeted to keep her looking nice, but if she is 30# bigger than planned I guess you can say we will blow the budget, lol. We may become guilty of the yearly clip down, yikes, though we do bath her every week, and brush her every coupla days, so we'll see how she goes...

The secrets of a good brush out is using a high quality slicker brush, get down to the skin and make sure that every hair on the dog is separate from every other hair. Be gentle but though. I like to use a good conditioner. It helps. Have fun. I miss grooming large hair dogs.

What a little cutie! Since I started doing home health nursing and meeting a lot of dogs, I’m really falling in love with labs and golden retrievers. I’ve always been into small dogs because my saying goes,”The smaller the dog, the smaller the log.” Lol but these big guys have captured my heart.

I want to to post pics of my little puppies, but Hope will put them to shame. Mine are just 3 week old mixed breed puppies.
