    Default Dark Knight Rams

I got 12 of the dark knight rams a while ago and they were pretty small. They have grown quite a bit and spawned for the first time today.

They spawned in the pleco cave on the left. These rams are in a 10 gallon and it is a very busy tank. Doubt any possible fry will surive until I make some changes.

Nice Pat! Cool how you caught them in almost exactly the same posture in each pic. Are pleco caves water tight? Could you remove it with fry inside and raise them initially on BBS?

Thank you Danny, I would if I had room but for now I will see how these fish handle their spawn. I will be rehoming them to a larger tank later.

I wish my Dutch Rams would do that. I've added fluvic acid to the tank but it hasn't made a difference. I think that I lost the touch for breeding which I thought would be always a part of me.

Wow, those are beautiful Pat. You and Liz have the best looking Rams I have seen. I wish our tap water could let me have some too.

I do not think you have lost the touch Liz This may sound counter intuitive but maybe put the two pairs together or their tanks byside each other so the fish can see each other. If one pair spawns you can insert a page separator between the tanks.

Thanks Barb, what is your tap water like? These guys are in my tap water which is relatively hard with a high ph.

Our tap water is ph over 9 and hardness so high I don't even test. I just call it liquid rock. Discus don't mind it at all.

So appears another pair is ready to spawn. The first pair is at the beginning of the video and the second pair towards the left. The tank looks dirty but the fish are happy lol
