Thank you to everyone who likes them. A friend on a general fish forum gave me an idea to try. He said that a lot of cory breeders just dump a bunch of ice cubes in the water. It simulates the rains which is when fish start spawning. I don't know what I have to loose and I don't think that trying it will hurt.

Beautiful group Liz! Nice work. I think I'm lucky they weren't at the last NADA show Is the turk in the background part of the same group?

Good spot, Steve. She is a proven female. I got her from Chicago Discus.

The temp drop works a treat on cory's. Interested to see what your discus make of it.

Very nice fish, I like pretty things

Here's one for you, though you may think it a terrible idea.

I've read about your fish, they are extremely well loved and they live in, what appears to be, optimal conditions at all times. Fantastic for growth and perhaps too good for your fish to want to spawn.

Sometimes, a bit of stress, will send fish into a "spawn before its too late" mode and perhaps letting the water quality slide a tad might get them in the mood. I'm not suggesting that you abandon water changes but perhaps easing up on them might trigger horny behaviour. I've seen stranger things, we use to burn eyes of shrimp to make them spawn (for the meat industry)

Nice group Liz. Hope you get them fired up with the temp drop. I recently added some shell grit to change the ph which certainly got them going.
    Good luck.

I did all the tricks and nothing worked. But I made a planted tank for them. Just this evening I see 2 fish lip locking and tail slapping. Another two are looking at the cone. They are nice to each other but one does nip the other on the body from time to time. Something is going on. These fish have been together forever and have always been peaceful. I sure do hope that it's the start of breeding behavior.

So how I can't help but agree with you coop ,Liz and please don't take offense to this, but I think if you forget half of what you think you know and stay out of the bedroom sort of speak you will be rewarded, there's and old saying in the psychiatric world if you think to long you think wrong, just my opinion.
