Sounds like fun Al, how long are you thinking of doing this?

This time of year is great for bird watching.. Migration brings us many birds right to our own backyards and local parks. No extensive traveling needed. Are any of you bird watchers? Do you have a feeder up that you put seed out for our feathered friend? How about a little challenge? Lets see how many species of birds we can post pics of from our widespread membership base. Doesn't need to be a fancy DSLR picture.. smart phone is fine.Videos are fine. You don't even need to know the name, we can probably figure that out for you.
This isn't a photo contest, no need to be embarrassed by your photo skills...or lack of them. Just a fun little collection of birds in your area. Lets limit it to with an hours drive of you..that should cover many state and federal parks.
Anyone interested?

Sounds like fun. My favorite bird, the Cedar Wax Wing doesn't generally show up until February although last year I had a group show up in November. They are so cool. They gather en mass in one of my female holly trees, pick it clean and leave suddenly in one great group.

Al, after seeing that photo I feel intimidated. I'll never be able to post anything of that quality unless I'm just crazy lucky.

Liz, its not necessary to post a great pic. Most bird watchers use binoculars, the image they make on your eyes is poor at best, but its enough to ID many birds. in the field, I will often just snap a pic of a bird so I can ID it latter, thats all we need here for this thread. Nothing fancy though fancy works too!

Lol, I'm not sure how this humming bird died, but I found it in perfect color, wings outstretched, and tongue out...feeding on a power socket perhaps??

This little bugger with a big voice loves to hassle my cat when she's in the back yard.
