Default Best discus food? Also for breeding pair.

I usually feed Frozen bloodworms as my everyday food. They sometimes eat the shrimp pellets from my corydoras(which they also love) but I want something more nutritious and also affordable for my discus pair. I tried flakes, didn't do so hot since discus can't really find them or the flakes fly off somewhere else. Anyone have any good recommendations on food that is affordable and that it has alot of it? I want to do my own beefheart but don't have the supplies to do it yet.

If you're feeding frozen bloodworms you are wasting your money on water. Try the freeze dried ones. They cost very little and are every bit, if not more nutritious. The shrimp pellets are an excellent food, too.

What supplies are you lacking that enable you to make your own beef heart? I found a dirt cheep meat grinder on Amazon if it's the grinder you lack. Nothing is necessary but a grinder, and the heart.
