Default Parents raise 9 day old fry, then spawn again

This is our first spawn that has made it to 9 days old. They're doing great grazing on the parents, but we just discovered a second spawn on the bottom glass. We got advice from Kenny to siphon out the eggs. We will keep you updated as to how things go after removing the eggs.

They're not aggressive towards the fry yet, but we don't want to take any chances.

Kenny advised you correctly. How many fry did the pair raise to free swimming. They generally don't spawn again if there are 25 or more.

At the moment there seems to be around 30/40 fry and getting big quickly! This is the Pair's 3rd spawn and looks like they are getting the hang of it. I must say though that the male is VERY PROTECTIVE!

UPDATE: Day 20 & eating BBS and flake. We are not sure if their growth rate is on par with 20 days. What do you all think? https://www.facebook.com/jackietupr/...7946326242650/

No complaining here Jeanne and thank you! I was just surprised they spawned with the other babies present! Discus have become a Passion. Takes work, but the rewards are incredibly satisfying!

Hi Mama Bear, just curious if the other links worked for you. Also I would like to request your wisdom as to what the fry in the video will become. Thank you!

Hi all, just a quick update on our fry. This is Day 30! It is a small batch of 30/40 fry. Hopefully in 2 more months I'll be able to offer them locally since I have not done any type of shipping with fish yet. Plus the weather is turning cold! Anyway here is the video...http://youtu.be/gi6X7jgNwJU
