    Never heard of a ring discus, but I have heard of Spotted leopard with the "ring gene", meaning some off their spots appears as rings.
    I hope Kenny doesn't mind but I screenshot this off his November shipment pics. This particular discus has many near rings and the white arrow points to a full "ring"

    Chicago Discus carried real ring discus this past Summer. The squiggles will form an actual ring. From far away, this fish looks like it has very large spots.

    I first saw this type of fish in Asia about 20 years ago, but it has been rarely available in the US. Kenny's ring discus only carries one copy of the gene and there may only be one ring on the fish. The true ring discus will be covered with rings on both sides.

    Thanks all for the clarification. I have one that has those rings, I would post a pic if I could figure out how to from my phone.

    So the easiest way to post from your phone is to first, email the picture to yourself and select a size which is less then 2MB. Then save the picture from the email into your picture folder from the email you sent yourself. Now you have a picture which is sized correctly. Next go to a quick reply box at the bottom of the thread you want to post in and select the "Insert Image Icon" (third over from the far right). A little dialog will appear and click on the "Basic Uploader" under the Computer tab. Then click on Browse, then Upload File(s). Give it a sec to update the picture which will appear as a number in your reply box. Do not remove that. Finish your reply and post it. Done
    Your discus are talking to you....are you listening

    On your cell you need to be in the standard format. The bottom left of the page you'll see this drop down box;
    Screenshot_20200220-214142.jpg

    When you click the arrow select the format shown here;
    Screenshot_20200220-214147.jpg

    Once you've done that use the image icon shown here;

    Select choose from computer and your done...providing the images are <2mb

    But 4eyes, You fish is very eye catching. It's for sure better for pattern than I see being offered. Did you buy it for breeding or just for enjoyment?

    Francis, that is a beautiful Ring Leopard you posted the pic of. It's pattern comes close to perfection. It's not the kind of fish that normal people can just go out and buy. You know it's true.

    Thanks Seanyuki for that pic.

    Hi Mama Bear, I bought my discus from Kenny, great guy, great discus. Bought mainly for enjoyment attached is how he was back in August. His pattern changed quite a bit since.
