I'm a bit troubled by the way they use Furan2 on a continuous basis. IMO, it should be stopped. It's no wonder way discus are prone to bacterial infections when we get them home. This is not a good practice and the environment is taking a **** kicking.

Very interesting and agree with Mervin on the use to Furan 2. Did anyone catch the reason for placing the eggs in a little pitcher in the parents tank? Was there MB in the water so the eggs would not fungus?

Now, I can see why folks on here are growing out nice discus from home bred or wild; they have a better immune system.

Pat the reason from the pitcher was just another way to protect the eggs the pitcher is clear so the parents can see the eggs as long as they can see them they will protect them and in protecting them they produce food from the fry

Thanks Jeanne, I guess they ran out of screens? My guess was a way of adding a little MB to prevent fungus formation on the eggs.

    Hi Pat,
I never was a fan of using the wire screen. I
almost always pull the eggs out and place
them in an large filter box, in a bowl or in a
2 liter pitcher with an handle so it can hang
on the tank frame. The water I use to hatch the egg will give a better hatch rate, there is
no worry of parents eating the fry. After hatching the fry can return to their parents, place with another breeding pair or hand feed the
fry without the breeding pair. As for the MB 100% waterchange 3 to 4 hours before hatching.

It was a great insight into a commercial set up. The fish are all vibrantly colored. If all newbies with illusions of grandeur and a ton of money could see this...If this is what it takes to make money I'll stick with my 20X20 fish room with a sofa in the middle for sitting and watching fish.

I agree. I felt exhausted just watching.

Thank you for the video, OP.
