    Default Water changes

I have decided on the quantity of water that I want to change weakly.

My question is if it’s better to split that quantity in two times or do it only once ?

Water change frequency and volume is dependent upon the stocking levels and the age of the fish. From your other topic, it looks like you're looking at getting very small juvenile fish. In this case, if you want your discus to grow up large and healthy, you're really looking at very large daily water changes. Anything less than daily water changes and I'm afraid your juvenile fish will more than likely suffer.

You've already received great advice in your other thread, so I would go with their suggestions.

Generally speaking though, two 50% or four 25% water changes I feel would be better than one 100% water change weekly. If you change the water once a week, you're allowing a full week in between to allow buildup of chemicals, whereas with 25% x 4 you are pretty constantly maintaining an even balance.
