I have hard well water, close to 500 ppm, but when breeding I cut it with ro to below 80 ppm. Usually between 40-60. If the fry hatch, I start adding the hard stuff back in. They need the minerals.

Thank you! I have hard water as well. I am looking forward to receiving mine from Kenny.

We have attachment! I think this is their (my) 4th try. Finally got it right. Now my work really begins.

Awesome! Mine spawned two days after receiving them. First spawn did not hatch. They are on their 2nd now. Hopefully they will hatch this time. Good luck with yours!

I'm very happy for you Steve. Aren't they great to watch? Good luck with the grow out.

It's a small batch, about 40, but that's fine by me.

Thanks Joe. Yes, I've actually had a couple late nights just watching the family. It was real interesting to see the fry swim free under the blue moon light setting.

Thanks Tom. My rams are getting the extra BBS. Hoping that might stimulate some action there, too.

If that's what you really want, don't give up. If it's the fish, they'll figure it out eventually. Good food can't hurt. Having the right tank conditions at the right time is art.
