    Default The most beautiful Betta

I was in my LPS today and saw the most beautiful Beta I have ever seen. He's a crown tail. He has a silver blue body, Blood red fins and head, with silver blue outlining the dorsal and anal. I put him in the 100 gal planted Discus tank in the fish room. This guy is already perfectly at home. When I put him in he headed straight to the back of the tank where he hid in the jungle val. In just a few hours he was exploring, and now he is swimming in the front of the tank with the Discus with total impunity. As well as being beautiful he's gutsy.

Cool! I used to have a Betta named Warren, lol... He used to ride on the back of a really big snail until the snail caught a ride in the circulation from the bubble wall and floated to the bottom. Then Warren would meet him and it would start all over again

I received 5 alien bettas today ! Well 6 but one was DOA ..
    On topic huh ??
All gifts of my Hawaiian buddy , but since 'his wife' claimed the blues he called in a favor from a friend for me ..
He sent me a pair of green and a mixed color pair [I have no clue betta terms ?] .The male green did not make the trip as they were due to arrive Monday and got here today .
The favor was to have a friend of his Joel Fernandez send me a pair of triple A blues ..They are outstanding ! Joel is a trans shipper and speaks at fish expos and such on bettas ..I am told the fish he sent me are big bucks !
Tom is like that when he finds good fish .He had me send a friend of his a pair of darks express on him ! We ship fish back and fourth just to get better lines and fish not available to each of us .His aliens came from a local Hawaiian LFS .Both his and Joels were recent imports from Thailand ..They say these are the hottest betta ! They crossed 2 wilds I think but again I don't know much about them yet ..Lucky you don't always need to know much to breed them ..
My reading on these guys say they are the friendly betta !
Tom in Hawaii said his have been building nest already since arriving ..

Liz and Tom, you both definitely need to post pics of your bettas. Those Alien Greens are to die for Tom and Liz, yours sounds gorgeous.

I am in no way a betta guy or Mr.fish ,but yea Liz .^^ THAT^^
I know about nothing on these guys but here we are !
I will admit with some reluctance I like expensive fish !

I am not sure I would have bought them and I have not seen females in my area at all .
My newest LFS had 6 Aliens last night when I went in search of a green male ..They did not have one and they were asking $60 a pop for these little guys ~

I used to spend a fortune of expensive Discus before I had to quit working.

As for my guy, I'm afraid that swimming among the Discus with impunity has it's down side. I see him nowhere this morning. Last night the Discus were totally ignoring him. I guess after lights out they went into hunting mode. I did notice a few weeks ago that after ignoring red shrimp to the point that I was building a colony of them in their tank, their were becoming fewer and fewer of them over time. I watched them after lights out one night and saw one Discus in particular snagging some shrimp that were sleeping on the matten filter. If they ate a betta I guess I don't have to worry about them getting enough live food.

Very nice bettas. After the live bearers, they were one of the first fish I bred as a kid. There are so many beautiful strains these days.

I just sold probably close to 1000 cherry shrimp of all sizes to a nearby aquarium supply store. $40. Probably a near giveaway, but OK by me.

Don't you feed them to your larger fish, Steve?
