It happened some time this afternoon. A nice big clutch of eggs. Fingers crossed that they will raise them.

I haven't had success yet myself, but I'm still new to Rams. No other fish in their tank. I gave them a love nest of their own. I guess they're liking their new digs.

Liz has Dutch rams. Go to this thread and look at post #48 & #54 for pics of her pairs.

They're really nicely colored lil fishies!
Your German rams would be much better suited in a 20gal long and also rams are not much for raising fry so if that's something you're looking to do you should remove the eggs or place a divider in your tank

Um, as I said in the post above yours Jeanne, Liz's are Dutch Rams.

Jeanne, They're in a 29 with about half the water removed. Tom actually thinks a 5 or 10 gallon is better. I have my other pair in a 10 gallon. I do have another 10 that I can set up for this pair if the 29 doesn't work for them but I have to re-seal it and I'm out of silicone ATM.
And yes, I know they can be hard to get to parent raise but there are many people who do have success. Some of them have posted here. I also know that it's best to pull the eggs if I want the outcome more than the process. But I cut my breeding teeth on Discus. Once you see the sight of Discus caring for their kids the experience of watching seeing that it's hard to not want to keep seeing it even in other fish. It's a bit of an addiction, but it's an addiction that causes little harm, so what the heck.
