Do you know what this worm is?
Hi all
I am setting up my first dedicated bb discus tank.
I wanted just one centre piece anubias on driftwood.
Whilst my new bb tank is cycling, I bought driftwood with 2 anubias from the local aquarium and put it in a tub to quarantine.
First night I found a little black/brown worm about 15mm long and 1mm thick.
I added Praziquantel to the water which I had on hand.
24 hours later, I notice the attached worm. Browny colour about 2 or 3mm thick and about 80mm long. Sort of looks like an earthworm.
Seems to have a triangle stylet which comes out and grips on the ground.
Looks like the 24 hours of praz didn’t help.
Would you know what type of worm this is?
Is it an issue?
Should I bleach bath the anubias, driftwood including roots for 2 mins? Or other ways of sterilising for worms, snails and parasites.
Or cut my loses and go without the driftwood and anubias?
Don’t want these in my tank.
Thanks heaps

It's hard to say what it is without a close up photo, but if it's there then there's a good chance there's other things as well. Bleach is good and many people use PP on new plants. A lot of people also boil their driftwood. Either way, you're right. You don't want that stuff in your tank...

It sure looks like a red wiggler to me, but I agree with Brian. I don't want to see tank invaders on my plants.
