    Default My Blue Rams

They spawned the other day. A nice big batch. They act so much differently from my black pair that it's like breading a new type of fish (almost). Surely the different colors don't have their own ways of doing things. Or do they?

I'm new at this so forgive the stupid question.

They do it the same .
But it can be like having an angry expert plumber or a happy dumb one !
I do believe color has some reflection on disposition ?
    That is just observation .

Except for the fact that dad is much less attentive than the black daddy I think that everything is fine. The eggs are still there and look good although they haven't darkened up like I think they should have. Dad still attacks me when I mess with anything in their tank. I'll just have to wait and see.

9 out of 10 males do most the work that I have seen . Same as it seems the female eats the eggs /fry more often ..
In a tank with no other fish he may be fine ..They don't fan the eggs as constantly as discus do from what I have seen .

It appears that they have eaten the eggs. I put a sand substrate in that tank and I don't like it. I think I'll siphon it all out and make it BB like the other Ram tanks.

Might just want to wait a day or two ?
I can't say how sneaky these fish are enough !
If they ate the eggs they know it and will be re setting . Spoil them with food and good water now either way so they get to breeding again if needed .
You can syphon the sand out in 2-3 days and still not interfere with them ..
Might even be perfect pre spawn water change ?
You need to take the eggs for them I think …
You said you had Dip and Pours right ?
It is no big deal..You all saw the videos ..
We keep water . Fish make fish ..My love of small containers is the ease of large and frequent water changes !
I would put them all in 5g tanks if I had the room ..

I'm going to let them try a time or two before I resort to the dip and pour method. I'm wait a few days on the sand. thanks.
