It will do. Some people even use 20, but IMO a 20 is way too small.
I want to start up another tank as a breeding tank and I have a 25 gallon here I could use. The measurements are Length 24" Height 21" and depth 12 inches. Is a 12" depth ok ? Or should I look for another tank? I know that a lot of people use 29 gallon tanks and if I'm not mistaken , the measurements of a 29 are 24x20x12. Comments?

I think the 29's are closer to 30". I would think the 25 would be fine as a breeder tank, but you'll need a larger tank for any fry pretty quickly.
So I set up the 25 gallon tank and put it just below my shoulder level. The water was shangri la and I put the pair in. They cowered in the corner for 4 days straight, barely eating and breathing fast looking stressed. I decided to put them back into a 65 with 5 other discus and and gave them 1/3 the tank using a neon ceiling light grating separator and within hours they are showing signs of pre-spawn behaviour like bowing and swimming to the cone. I think the 25 didn't have enough depth being that it's only 12 inches deep and they are used to 16 or 18 inches in depth. The 25 is 24x20x12. I'm going to look for something with more depth. I know a 20x20x20 is a 35gallon and I think I may pick one of those up. In the meanwhile, if they spawn in the tank they are in, I was thinking of laying some plastic window screen over a second separator and putting it up against the 1st to keep fry from swimming to the other side and getting chomped. Any other suggestions or comment would be appreciated.
My local fishstore has Marineland 37 Column tanks, 20" X 20" footprint, for sale for $37. That's been my ideal tank size. The tanks don't take up a lot of space and basically is half of a 75.

At my age, everything is irritating.
I know I am missing something but when I put my tanks on their side, the water tends to fall out.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I figured that you were pulling our legs. Good one.
