They look good. What would they be? Look to me a wild cross, maybe an Alenquer with halo.

Nice fish. For sure breeding quality. I noticed the halos as well. There is some wild blood in there somewhere but how far back is the question. Breeders of domestics add desirable traits into their breeding stock all the time and select for the traits that appeal most to them.

Could I please see a pic of the fish in the background? To me it appears to be the better quality of the two, at least to my self trained eye.

    Glad you like them....

They are bred from a wild royal blue and blue turquoise.

Will take some more photos once they arrive.

Why does the one have the black "halo" fins and the other not?

Both fish are slightly different, these 2 were probably paired up to get the best attributes from both.

The best of both is a good thing. I ordered a wild juvenile about 6 months ago that wsd supposed to have the halo. He never developed it but I did get a fast growing beautiful rust colored reddish brown fish that I am very happy with. I keep wondering if the halo will ever develop?

They arrived today and have been in their new aquarium for an hour or so. Still looking a bit stressed as they've had a long journey for the north of England to the south, but I'm sure they settle soon.

Here are a couple of photos I took after they were set free...

have you tried reducing the size of the file? That usually does the trick. I hate for people to give up posting pics. Also, I've become used to pics being posted upside down or sideways.

You can always PM one of the "smarter" mods for advice if you've reached an impasse.

Ask for help for one of the mods. Everyone is better at solving these problems than I am.
