We are in Oregon. Stay home when possible. Six foot distancing rule otherwise. Grocery stores, pharmacies, carry-out still open. All other social gatherings stopped, except I was still allowed to play golf yesterday, as long as we maintained our distance.

Shelter in place rules go into place midnight tonight in Minnesota and will stay in effect for two weeks.

The Minnesota Aquarium Society annual show, which was scheduled for March 21, was obviously postponed. We attracted 1,000+ attendees to a 1-day show last year, so that's a little disappointing. The next open date is late July, but who knows? In the meantime, every single filter in the fishroom has been scoured...

Just got news that the snowbirds checked out of my home early this morning, so I get to return home. Woohoo.. Packing up from this temporary rented home in Tucson and will be in my home in Green Valley in about 2hours. Leaving Mexico when we did was a good call! Alamos, Sonora, Mexico has instituted a curfew now.

Anyway, we are now 4 days into our 14 day quarantine. I've had a persistent cough and headache for a few days, but no fever. Feel a little better this morning. I'll just do the drive home to Green Valley and stay tightly locked in the house... My wife too of course. I'm not going to panic and leave to try and get tested... Even if I have it... if I'm not having any trouble breathing, the best thing is to stay home, stay isolated, stay warm, stay hydrated, well fed.. and just let my body fight it. No sense exposing others or needlessly taking up a test kit. Again.. I'll just really closely monitor myself and stay isolated.... My wife too of course. My wife always gets way, way sicker than me... so I probably just have allergies or valley fever as I was doing some gardening work in Alamos just before we packed up to head NOB. Im certain that if I had the virus, my wife would have it worse and be showing symptoms..

Of course, I could have a Man-Cold, which is almost always near fatal:

But man on man, I can't wait to be able to be quarantined in my own comfortable home.... and not the Casita in Alamos, Mexico or the rented house in Tucson, Arizona... Woohoo.

The British humor is the best. Thanks for the link.

There is nothing better than being home where you feel safe. Stay well. Do what your wife advises since she is still well. It's obvious that you know what to do if breathing becomes difficult. The only good thing about this virus is that we are all pulling for one another and doing our best to be safe and be kind.

    I am so ridiculously bored.

And seriously, why are people hoarding all the ground beef and chicken! I could care less about TP... but Taco Tuesday taken away from my household is grounds for stoning folks in a grocery parking lot... from 6ft away... after cleaning the stones with the hand sanitizer that they also hoarded... bunch of hoards...

I just got back from grocery shopping. There was some of American style bread but lots of the French bread that I like. No toilette paper. I don't understand this fixation on TP. There were lots of fresh veggies and lots of meat. I picked up everything I was looking for including the Tuna steak.

My son, Ricky, was ordered by his mom to shelter in place. She calls him "Little Ricky" because her favorite TV show is I Love Lucy. Little Ricky is Ricky Recardo and Lucy's son. She also refers to the lad as Ricky Retardo. Because he is fully capable of backing his car out of the garage without first assuring that the garage door is actually open. Good that her favorite TV show is not Dennis the Menace because I am sure the kid would have been named, Dennis. But to his credit he did foresee all of this. He got to Costco at least a week ahead of everyone else. We must have a 1 year supply of TP. paper towels. masks, bleach, sanitizer, soap, and for some reason sandwich bags. He and his sister, Ellie Mae, mother's other favorite TV show is The Beverly Hillbillies, packed out the car and may in fact had made two trips to Costco to get that much stuff. We are set for the long haul. One more item that my son purchased at Costco. Diced garlic. Every morning I get a heaping spoon full of it with honey, to kill the taste, and washed down with pineapple juice. YECH! He claims this will build my immune system thus keeping alive and working to insure that his weekly allowance will continue to flow uninterrupted.

So I came in extra to help out in the ICU tonight and ended up getting our hospitals first confirmed covid19 patient through our emergency room. I actually don't mind because being a known case I get access to hospital supplied uniform to leave here, all the PPE and a PAPR (positive air pressure respirator) There is so many unknowns with patients coming in & out of our units, at least with a known case I get the gear to wear...

You looks somewhat akin to a garden Gnome, Dano. Book 'em.

Thank you Pat, Tom, Liz and Peewee. Saint Daniel the garden gnome, lol! Seriously though, helping and serving the needs of others is what makes my heart happy. I love being a nurse. It's a challenging time for everyone right now, so I try to have a good attitude and bring a little joy into my workplace. Take care everyone, & God bless!
