Default How do you dispose of salt water?

I have a tank I am treating with salt. Time for a water change. Usually, I send my waste water down a hose to a French drain along my lot line with my neighbor, leads to the garden. He's all for the nutrients that feed the border plants, but I'm thinking I don't want to send the salt water there. Right?

Wait for a rainy day. That’s when I’d do my SW tank water changes. Never hurt lawn or plants

Can you not run the waist water down a drain somehow?

My "fish room" is below house level. Like the add on garage room. The laundry is there too, so there's enough height differential that I could empty the tank into the washer, but that wouldn't be very popular.

I drained it to the usual spot, but flushed it with more water after. Hopefully OK.

Use the washer and offer to do a couple of loads just to show her that it won't make a difference. If you keep doing what you did today you will be throwing away a lot of good water which is a shame.

The issue is the amount of salt in it. I don't consider it "good water" for plants in the yard.

The good water I was referring to was the water you put in the french drain to dilute the salt water.

I don't think the concentration of salt is enough to harm plants or grass.

2600+ gph pump from Amazon with 2" wide plastic hose from lowes (by the foot... cheap... get how ever many feet you need to pump it up and out of your basement and into either a neighbor's yard you don't like or into the street). Problem solved and you are going to fall in love where they pump that is in a thousand gallon per hour range. I don't even know what to do with myself with extra time I have now. I can put out a car fire fast as hell!
