Default Any Hobbyists cooking up anything?

Just wondering if anyone has any spawns they're raising. Definitely would love to see some brown based red spawns (wink wink).

Still, I love to see what people have cooking. I see a few threads but I nerd out on seeing hobbyists with different batches.

Also (side bar), how are any of you packaging up fish? Used to be breather bags but I don't see them. I know some use oxygen (I think) but is .20-.25 of water in a bag
Plus compress/trap the rest with air okay? Anyone ever use 2-3 day shipping? I had one guy do that several years ago for (6) 1.5"-2" discus and they were all just fine (that'd be scary with larger, more expensive ones though).

I often ship with 2-3 day but lately with all the madness more are late then on time so I am basically trying to get everyone on Express.
I use O2 and regular bags but don't ship large fish often .It truly is more difficult and demanding..
I have 2 month old Red / Yellow Santarems now but have not done in video in ages ..
The parents are on fresh eggs today so I guess I need to document ?

I'm not sure where the wink is coming from, but I do have a group of reds and browns I'm hoping to get something happening in soon.
When I've shipped, I've done my best to copy Kenny, and/or follow Al's shipping guidelines (sticky somewhere). Double bags, 4 mil., rubber bands, O2 in the bag, heat packs, styro coolers...a bit of Meth blue in the water.
I have successfully taken a chance on USPS 2-day shipping with young fish, and they actually arrived a day late so I got a full refund even though the fish were fine!, but like you said, I would not do that for larger, more expensive fish. If a shipment of fry gets messed up, hopefully i can make up for it.

Do you have, or will you have, photos of the pairs? I am close enough to Oregon to either drive there of quick ship to Washington State. Would be interested in those some day.

I've got these guys. They're waiting for me to give them their own space.

A couple shots of another tank. Note the red/white pair in the corner on the second one. They've spawned a few times with no success, and he's (white) a bit older, so I'm questioning his stuff.

Steve, Please give the last pair their own tank. If the fry look good I'm up to buying at 2". They ship well at that age.

I love my current stock but after so many licks to the head I've taken with them, I'm about to hang that project up for good. I much prefer to buy domestically bred fish to Asian imports. Your female is stripe less. I love the stripeless brown reds.

The last two are two males. The pics before that are of each with a different female. That's what I have to work with.

Oh well. If they are both males my hopes are dashed for now.
