    Default Distilled Water

Can I use distilled water instead of RO to soften water in a 29g breeder tank. I have a pair of Dark Angels spawning in my community tank and the eggs don't last long. Want to move them to the 29g. TDS, GH are in the 200's KH is also high, pH near 8.0. Distilled is easier to get during these times.

Yes. Just don't use pure distilled because it has no ph buffering ability or necessary minerals...

I was going to start with 1g of distilled every 12 hrs until i get the TDS, Gh close to or under 100, which would be about 50/50.

I would do this in a holding barrel. It would be very difficult to achieve consistency in a tank.
