Well... it seems the young have all turned into snacks.
Parents couldn't contain the wandering fry.
Sorry to hear mate.
With the other pair you posted in post #59 is the PB strain the male or female?
Hard to raise fry in a community tank as they have no places that are hidden from the rest of the tank. The pair could have eaten them, especially if they are preparing to lay again. The community tank could have eaten them. But you mentioned the fry "wandering" away. That happened to me. I changed my lights to a dimmer light, starting out at 1/10. As the fry grew (by week 4), I had the light on 5/10. It may not be the reason but it is an option to try on the next batch.
Oh, if you don't have a nightlight on in the tank room at night that will assist.
I use night lights in the fish room .
I do think they make a difference for fry and just for spawning cycles .
It rarely is pitch black outside ,especially where most of our fish come from in the wild .
I am not carried away enough to cycle night lights with the lunar cycle but I would bet that would boost breeding also .
Fish just know when it is full moon anyways .Maybe they feel the effect the moon has on waters since they are in it ?

That's a pretty good one
So far only two of mine have names yet.
Golden Diamond = Mango
White Leopard = Ginger (All I can think of is Cartman in south park, so great)

I ended up naming my discus after the people I work with. It began when I was kidding with my loan guy. I told him that I have a yellow fish that I named Little Lee. I gave him a picture of the fish which is now pasted on his office wall. Well, my investment person spotted it and wanted to have a fish with her name so I named my Blue Scorpion Marina and I gave her a picture which she put on her office wall. Then another guy got in on it so I name one after him. That one was a Red Heckle. That one is now named Phillip. All I had left were Alenquer. All browns. One day we were all having a meeting. One of the managers, who is an Indian, asked if she could have a fish with her name. So i explained that I did have a brown one that she could have. Then I realized what I had just said and wondered how may HR violations that I had just broached. But I did explain there were only brown ones left. That then made it easy for the black guy who wanted one to understand why he got a brown one too thus me avoiding a second and more serious HR problem. Then one of the young guys in the office, who I call "Lad", found out that he was going to be a father so he asked me what a good name for his son would be. I told him that "Laddie" would be good. So I called the new fish Little Laddie" and now everyone in the office is good. That is how I named my fish.
That's hysterical!
