Well, yes, too funny but I am no longer letting daughter Ellie Mae name any fish. After naming the Indiana discus "Jones" I forbid her from even viewing the fish any longer. But she does look anyway.

Haven't posted in a little bit and ran into a couple issues unfortunately.
Added 4 new discus, which seems to have done quite a bit of good for the group.
I'm actually surprised at how much calmer they all seem.

On to the issues
#1 Lost a ram while I was at work, my wife found him dead right under one of the two breading pairs.
I have a feeling the little guy wasn't sneaky enough picking discus eggs off the wood...
#2 My white Leopard seems to have unknown issues.
Pryor to adding the new group he seemed to have a slightly clouded right eye, I tried upping the water changes to 80% per day.
After a week there seemed to be no change to the eye, his tail fin was looking a bit ragged, and he stopped eating or swimming around.
I decided to treat the tank with API Fungus cure, this seemed to clear up the eye but he is still not eating and his gills are a bit puffy?
I pulled him from the tank while doing a water change for a salt bath to possibly help his gills and moved him to his own tank.
I'm really not sure what to do from here, I don't really want to bomb him with more meds if i can help it, and i'm only really noticing one weird spot on his fin?

Sorry to hear you lost a ram .
The forehead of the discus looks rough and it may be the picture but you may be facing HITH ?
It could just be the pits discus normally have but from the picture they and the forehead look suspicious ??
I am with you and not med guy at all.
I like Potassium Permanganate for just about everything and even when there are no issues .
It does things no other treatment can .

Nothing but clean water in the quarantine tank, dialing the temp to 88, and hoping for the best.

I’m just chiming I for a moment. I just went through and read this whole thread and have to say that your tank, your care, and all you’re doing is just awesome. Everything looks amazing! Great job and please keep updating here.
So sorry to hear of the loss of a fish and the issues coming up with this latest guy. I wish I could offer any advice but I’m still a beginner. But I’m wishing you the best of luck!

Yes they are, the quality of his fish are light years beyond anything local to me.
But... they decimated my cherry shrimp population, little murder machines. XD

Cool mate, yea, from what I have seen Tom's Ram's are off the chain with regards to LFS Ram's. I am hoping to get a smaller planted tank going in the not too distant future with Tom's Ram's as the main attraction...and I was gonna have shrimp in there, but after your experience, maybe not, lol
