The joy of breeding is hard to beat !
I went down to the fish room first thing this morning fearing disaster but hoping for the best. My fry have attached! Another pair is staring at the cone and shaking from time to time to time. I am a happy camper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL0Qt7IF8Q4

That's awesome Liz, but I prefer a youtube link of the success, lol...
Thats great Liz, congrats.
Congrats Liz! Nothing like new babies whatever the animal is!
I love it when you set the bar low ("...fearing disaster...") but Murphy's Law finally screws the pooch and things go right!
Congrats Liz!

Am I the only one who clicked on the YouTube link expecting to see attached babies? I am probably the only one who watched for a full minute before realizing it was just a song link.
lol. Sorry you were confused. I don't know how to take a video. I can't do much at all on my phone. I'm technologically challenged to say the least. I'll tell you what...I'll post some stills I can take from my camera when the kids grow a bit larger. They've grown, the to me they are still tiny little dots that swim.

See Adam, you weren't the only one. Larry, if you only knew how many times I have suffered disaster trying to breed this line you wouldn't think that expecting disaster was an exaggeration. Thanks to all of you for your well wishes. It has been too long for me. I'm thankful for a little happiness during these uncertain times.

As I said, with this strain I am a disaster waiting to happen. I was changing water a week or so ago, overflowed their tank and sent a lot of babies overboard. Later in the week I saw the pair bickering, then I found a fry floating dead. Mom has always been the more attentive parent to I put dad back in the 100 gallon. There weren't enough fish in the fry tank with mom for that 40 gallon cube they were in so yesterday I moved them to a 29 where mom and children are doing well. I'll remove her in another week. I have left parents with fry for longer, but 3 weeks is enough.

Awesome Liz! How many fry is mom tending?

It's embarressing to say that I washed so many overboard. She only has around 25.

Sorry mate
At least it will be easy to manage water quality with 25, and I'll be all of them turn out to be amazing for shape and color!
I have overflowed tanks more times then I can count or care to remember .
Mrs.Bandit probably has a count and remembers them all !
I'd take 25 fry happily considering my pair ate their last 4 sets of eggs after being model parents !
Part of experience and wisdom is the pit falls ?
I always fall back on without failure success would never taste so sweet ..
Good luck with the fry you have .
