Here is what puzzles me, you left her in the HT for a week and she ate but no bulge, then into DT and almost immediately head standing returns with bulge. Means either this is a behavioral issue and you are over-reading air bladder bulge, or there is something in the DT (not present in the HT) that this particular fish is uniquely sensitive to. How big is your HT, you might move over several additional discus to the HT to see if this might be behavioral if you have the size.

So just an update on this. I took her to a specialist vet about 2 weeks ago, and had physical exam and X-ray of the fish. Nothing showed up in the X-ray . The vet did say we could investigate further if I wanted to, but the tests may show nothing, stress the fish more or even lose the fish.
I’ve just decided to let her be, she still eats fine and is usually one of the first to get to the food. She is still in great physical shape and occasionally “shimmers” next to a male she fancies.

At this point I don’t feel it is inhumane, but please feel free to share your opinion as well!.
