Hey man I don't have any knowledge but just wanted to let you know I been there and it sucks when discus have white poop. I hope yours are doing well. Are they still eating? Lethargic behavior?
Bump for anyone that can help identify
Hi All,
White poop tonight. Grabbed the microscope and found these. Was going to start with a dosage of Levamisole but i thought i'd check here first. I also did see what looked like Capillaria Eggs but couldn't get a photo.
Anyhow, those long rice grains are swimming all over.
Cheers

I can't identify it. Someone better with the microscope will know.

Think I'll have rice for lunch today.
This poop came off the bottom of the tank?
If you collected the poop from the bottom of the tank, those are probably just paramecium. That's what they look like. They didn't come out of your fish and they aren't the cause of the white poop.
I saw it coming out of her, but i did grab it off the gravel. It was only there for 5 mins or so. They did just finish a 48 hr bath of lavamisole as i'm sure i saw a Capillaria Egg in there.
I did notice that she has stopped eating tonight. Normally she goes nuts for beef heart but tonight nothing.
Oh, and bonus points if you can tell me the strain of the big guy in the background. I have no idea.
If the poop was on the gravel for 5 minutes, that's plenty of time for a bunch of paramecium to get mixed in with the sample. They are not the issue. If you are confident you saw a Capillaria egg, then levamisole should work. Loss of appetite is very common when treating with levamisole. It sometimes takes a couple of days for the appetite to come back. You should repeat the levamisole treatment in 2-3 weeks to get any immature Capillaria that did not get killed with the first treatment.
My guess on the strain of the one in the back is some type of marboro red x leopard or marboro red x pigeon snakeskin.
