I've kept Pearl's with my Discus forever. They present no problem whatsoever. They're fun to breed, too!
In the different topic one forum’s mate suggested to rehome my pearl gourami from discus tank.
As far as I know they are peaceful, like actic and high temperature water, so sounds like a good teammate for discuses.
I have: 3 discuses (hopefully, as one went to a hospital tank), 3 pearl gourami and 6 silvertip tertras.

That's so cool, Liz. I've seen blue gouramis breed and the number of fry is just unbelievable.
At my age, everything is irritating.
Same with the Pearls. I keep some for the fish store and the rest are live food.

Same here, I have had no problems with Pearl Gouramis with Discus, GBRs, or Angelfish. Pearl Gourami's with other Gourami's is a different story.
Do you have any idea about gender of those gouramis?

These are quite young, right? It looks like the one on either side are females and the one in the middle is a male. When your male matures he will have beautiful colors. Here's a pic of one of my old males.

What temps do you keep your tank with discus and pearls?

Liz the only difference I can see in those 3 pearls is the dorsal fin on the middle fish is much longer...is that what you are judging their gender by? Teach me plz??
That's it Danny. When they're young it's the only way to tell.

Shan, All the fish in my fish room are at Discus temps (I use 83). I can't have cooler water fish because all my aged water is heated to 83.

I really love the "tassles" on the top of the dorsal and on the anal fin...fancy
