    Gray Treefrog (Hyla versicolor)

Thanks Pat...They are cammo experts, changing from greenish to gray as needed. They are incredibly loud treefrogs and locally common where I am. We hear them all summer into the Fall. When I first moved here I had come from a more Dry area..never heard these before. Found one in a flower pot and decided to to make it a terrarium for a few days .. ..Middle of the night that guy started calling and it scared the heck out of us as we sleep. Needless to say I returned it the next day to the Flower pot.

    You can hear them here...

Wow they are loud Al. We have a low area towards the front of the property which tends to hold some water most of the time. It sounds really creepy at night with the frogs and such when it rains lol.

I found those small puppies in my garden recently. I have to evacuate them from the rabbit hole, as another two had been hunted by cat.

now they are doing fine :-)

Hehe ... not really domestic, as it should be some desert rabbit. I'm leaving in UAE.
We have adopted one rabbit recently, but even vet hasn't realized it not a single rabbit. After few weeks I have found small once in one the whole. You can't even imagine how deep it could be! There were at the end of 5 feet tunnel and it took me quite some time to dig to its end. It was a lifesaving for them, otherwise they would be catch by cat or some different predators.

Anyway I found keeping discus in desert quite hand, I don't need to use heater as room's temperature is 82-84 F without AC. I need to age water anyway as tap water is 97F, so I need to cool it down to room temperature, which 82-84 only. A municipal water is RO already - from the sea. Only benefits :-)

I love this. We all share a passion for discus/fish, but it extends to care and appreciation for all animals it seems.

He is really majestic and in much better condition than most Coyotes you find in the desert. He is definitely an Alpha. He comes aound in spurts, several nights in a row and then we don't see him for weeks. Hares are on the down swing, CottonTails are on the upswing. I can have upwards of 6 of them in my yard some evenings. So the Coyotes are feasting. He has a mate with 2 pups in tow as well.

There is a bobcat with two kittens in my neighborhood, but I haven't seen it yet.

I should post some pictures of the javelinas. They come around regularly. Once our monsoons start, they will disappear to feast on the bounty in the desert.

Lizards, Geckos.. oh my so many varieties.

I wish I was a photographer. I observe so much wildlife throughout Arizona and Sonora, but never document it.

I had a bobcat attack on my flock of hens last year. Out of 12 hens and a rooster I have 3 hens left and no rooster. It found it's way into the hen house at night. It killed them all and hauled them off. I saw no carnage laying about. I know that they are beautiful but since then I've not been fond of them.

I've seen a possum eating a hen from the butt up. I heard the scuffle in the middle of the night, took a flashlight and saw it. I tried to shoo it out with a rake handle but it bared those sharp teeth at me and hissed and I decided to let it eat it's catch. They're adorable when they're babies, and sweet if they've been hand raised, but I'm not fond of them either.

I saw a fox snag a hen once while she was ranging around in the pasture. I tracked it back to it's hole. She had babies. How could I be mad at her for grabbing a chicken?

I love the wildlife around here and I believe that all my animals should be able to free range. Losses are to be expected and accepted.
