    Default Water Change Pump Recommendations

I am setting up a holding tank for aging water in my closet, and would prefer to pump directly, through about 25' of tubing. Any recommendations for pumps? I was looking at some pumps from Lowe's, but was curious if there was a favorite that was practical and cost effective. Thanks

I just use an Ozito “dirty water” float valve pump. Does about 10k/hr

I use the Mag pumps attach to a flexible hose.

25 feet of hose is a long ways to go. How high does the water have to go? If you're looking for something really cheap, Menards puts sump pumps on sale every so often. I haven't bought one yet, but the 1/4 HP models look fully capable.

I'm a Mag pump guy myself. Like all pumps, you need float mechanism to interrupt them so they don't run dry when the vessels are empty. They rely on water flowing through them to stay cool.
I'll be pumping from my 60gal RO Water storage about 30' to my centralized sump using a Mag 5. It will only be about 25 gallons twice a week (dwarf cichlids, not discus).

Mag pumps are also what I use. I used other cheaper pumps but the mag pump gives me long lasting durability. I pump from a storage tank in the basement with a vertical rise of 10 ft. The mag 18 gives me more then enough water pressure to my tanks.

    I’m using pond pomp https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....Dl3mL._AC_.jpg
I found that 1500l/h is way to much, so it would be a storm in my tank. Luckily you can lower engine speed, to control the flow.
    It cost my 15$ only.
