Default i dont know what else to do please help

so i recently got a new 65 gallon tank for my discus (105501596_399531900972291_2488937618739150990_n.jpg105501596_399531900972291_2488937618739150990_n.jpg105942861_964103200689884_2667462218072819838_n.jpg105942861_964103200689884_2667462218072819838_n.jpg) before i got this upgrade i i had 3 juvenile discus and as expected becouse of the stress they stopped eating, so i got a bigger tank, got 4 new discus, and in the beginning it seemed fine, the older discus (allso still juveniles) seemed to be doing better allmost instantly, but were still showing signs of parasites, so i went to my local fish store specialised in discus, and he told me i should treat my tank, so i did, i did the 6 day treatment of "octocil". and for a while they seemed to be doing okay, now since i started doing this treatment, the sick fish got better, but 2 or 3 days into the treatment, another one of my discus suddenly started shwing signs of illness too, he doesnt eat, and poops white stringy poo, i started doing daily 30-50% waterschanges and redosing the tank according to what i replaced, now we are in the last day of the treatment, there are 2 discus that eat a lot, a few others eat dcently, but there are 3 or 4 of them that just decided to stop eating, they havent lost weight and hevnt noticed any other signs of illness but its starting to freak me out, seeing as the treatment seems to have no possitive effect as my fish got sick during the treatment, what can i do? ps i allso bumped up the heat to 32 degrees celcius, (usually they sit in 29-30 degrees) what can i do please help me. (btw its not like they r all hiding the one that has obvious signs is sompetimes hiding, but for the rest they swim about and just peck at the bottom looking for food but seemingly not even noticing the food that is right infront of them)105501596_399531900972291_2488937618739150990_n.jpg105918034_724365335045814_3896634463073794693_n.jpg

You might want to fill out the disease questionnaire. You will get much more input.
How long has the tank been up and the water parameters?

    Hi Fotonikt,

I found this PDF on the medication you are using http://www.manaus-aquarium.com/pdf/B...tocil15_GB.pdf and it sounds like it is the right med for what you are seeing. Was the fish with the white poop taken within the last day to two? The PDF does say " The water temperature should not exceed 29°C" so careful with the temperature.

Since you have completed the treatment I would be tempted to do a couple large water changes and observe for a few days.

Here's the link to the questionnaire Frank mentioned http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...lease-complete. Please fill it out and post here. It may give us more information.

    Problem

    1. Please explain the problems with your fish. When did you notice the problems and did anything unusual happen that you think started them?
    see top post

    2. Symptoms (i.e. turning dark, excess slime, not eating, clamped fins, flashing, darting, clamped gills, white/yellow/green poop, hiding, headstanding or tailstanding, white on tips of fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/white zits on fish, bloated, cloudy eyes, wounds).
the one that has obvious signs, is not eating, has white feces, is losing weight, but is still relatively active, how though he does not stay with the rest of discus

    3. What medications/ treatments have you already tried and what were the results. Include dosage and duration of treatment.

1ml/20l of octocil, 5 days, it has healed a fish, but the one that is sick now got sick during the treatment

    Tank/Water

    4. Tank size and ages, numbers and sizes of fish.

240l (63gallons) (2 weeks old and cycled with filtermedia of an old aquarium) with 2 angelfish, a group of neon tetras, 2 bristlenoses, and 3 corridoras, and then ofcourse 7 juvenile discus of approx. 7-10 cm diameter
    5. Water change regime (What percentage and how often).
    usually i do a 30-50% waterchange daily

    6. How long has tank been running? Is it bare bottom? If you have substrate, what type and how deep is it?
tank has been running for 3 weeks and got a kickstart with a product that came with the filter and some additional media from the old tank
, it has gravel substrate, 2 or 3 cm thick, with some spiderwood, 2 live plants and plastic plants. and a few rocks (rinsed and boiled ofc)
    7. Do you age your water? If you do for how long and what is the ph swing.
i do not know what this means

    8. What type/brand water conditioner do you use? Do you add it to the tank or aging barrel? How much do you use?

    9. Parameters and water source;

Note: Water Parameters are important in diagnosing problems within a tank. If you don't own test kits for the following information, you can purchase them, test your parameters and post this info as soon as possible.

    - temp _30 degrees celcius____

    - ph __8___

    - ammonia reading __0,02__

    - nitrite reading __0,1__

    - nitrate reading ___50_

What type of water or combinations of water sources do you use? If it is an RO/tap/well water mix, please list percentages in the mix.

    - well water _no___

    - municipal water __yes__

    - RO water _no___

    10. Any new fish, plants or inverts added recently.
    a group of small neon-tetras

    11. Please tell us what you feed your fish and how often. This can be critical information for solving the problem so be as specific as you can.
frozen beef heart (from stendker) 3 or 4 times a day and sometimes i throw in some flakes (jbl gala) and some granulates (jbl grana for discus) but they dont really touch that yet

    12. Include any pictures or videos you have which shows the symptoms. If you can't add them to this post, please provide a link to them.

What was in the tank that the pre-cycled filter media was in? You are registering ammonia so the media is having to "catch up" with the new aquarium.
Immediate concerns would be the high nitrates (and ammonia reading).
What are your tap water readings? You did not indicate a water conditioner product, such as Prime? Are you using anything here.

guess it makes sense since they also sold the fish as well as the med.

By "without conditioner" do you mean you do not use chlorine/chloramines neutralizer?
If you are not dechlorinating your water you will have killed off your beneficial bacteria in the filter media, and will probably kill your discus as well. Stendkers are bred to thrive in a wide range of water conditions, but NOT in chlorinated municipal water. You MUST use a dechlorinator like seachem prime or some similar product.

    Agreed with Dano T.

Can you take a ammonia - nitrite test of your TANK water? I would immediately put some seachem prime into your tank.

We can work from here but you gotta do this part quickly. It's harmless

hello guys thanks for all your feedback ive went to my fish store to let them do a water test and they said everything is okay, they showed me the readings only they said that the water from where i live is perfectly good for discus specially stendkers (i did not go to the store where i bought the discus) only that now becouse of corona they fill the water with higher levels of chlorine, so i got some seachem prime, anyhow as soon as the treatment was 100% done and i had done enough waterchanges in order for the medication to be taken out, the fish immediatly all swamµ arroudn happily and all started to eat like crazy, togetter with the addition of seacheam prime and continuing to do 30-50% waterchanges they should be in perfect conditions

Seems like the chlorine was the issue. You never know when the water source changes something up in their treatment. I would settle to just use Prime from here on.
