If he lives in Ireland then he must have green fish. I will drive there when his fry are ready.

Damian, those are some fine looking fish.
Where do you live in Ireland and where do you buy your fish? We had plans to go back ow infact
but canceled due to the present conditions.

The positive to that is that the nutrition that is derived from the consumption of the eggs is one of if not the best forms of nutrients that a fish can consume. If it were possible to have your fish produce eggs as prolific as chickens produce eggs you would never have to buy food for your fish as they would produce their own food, in effect. But, these greens are special and they must produce offspring because there is a shortage of greens available to we hobbyists.

I am interested to hear peoples opinions on the best way to proceed here. They are currently in a 350L tank with about 10 lemon tetras and 4 juv Geos.
I may have an option of moving them into in 45cm cube tank which currently has Geo Red Head fry in it. I am also looking at getting a Juwel Lido 125L.
I am thinking water changes and BBS would be a nightmare in the bigger tank so it might be best to move them ? Or wait till spawn again and move ?Or something else ?

    Hi Damian,

Do nothing until you get wigglers or remove all the fish in the tank with the pair. The third spawn was always the magic spawn with my wild pairs. Once you have wigglers I would suggest leaving the pair in the original tank. I have heard of people moving the fish and they do not spawn again. So your choice. If you decide to leave the fish I can post suggestions for feeding BBS etc. I will leave you to figure out on handling water changes. I would definitely suggest you age the water used for water changes.

I think that most here will agree that you must ship those beauties off to peewee. And if he could get them by St Pattie's day the better, Laddie. Erin go bragh and a sláinte to ya now.

and we are back. I put a mesh around the filter pipe and moved the cone over to that side of the tank. seems to have worked. I think my best option is to take the remaining fish out of the tank if the spawn looks to be good.
