    Default Raising Wild Discus fry

    Hey all

It has been a few years since I was last on here. Had gotten rid of the tank and then got one back with some Uarus but now I am back with some discus. I currently have 4 discus in the tank, 2 domestics which i have for over a year and about 4 months ago I purchased 2 wilds.
I remember Pat raising wilds and I have just read through Als thread and was wondering if someone can point me to any other good threads on raising wilds ?

Absolutely, did your wilds breed for you? If so we need PICTURES lol.

There are two threads (three if you count Al's) of members currently raising F1s. Here is mine http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...ld-F1-Growouts which are fry from Al's pair which are about 18 months. This is Frank's thread http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...sant-Surprise! and his fry are seven weeks old.

Damian, I'm in love with them. Wild Green are my favorites. Look at those spots!

Very nice looking fish!! Earlies this year the pet stores by me were carrying what they said were wild caught discus. I wasn’t believing it. One store had these and another similar. Are these wild?0E7F79E1-16BC-4EBA-BB21-E373E7D69757.jpg

They look like wilds to me. I wonder where they sourced them.

Liz I’ve been away from discus for almost 20yrs. My first time around I had wilds. Most were wild. The turquoise discus was the the new discus. But the wilds I had never looked that nice. Also they were very hard to keep alive. The Turks were an easier fish to keep and nicer looking so thats where I went. That’s why I wonder if they’re wild or someone is just breeding wilds. The ones pictured were $150 a peice and the wild tag just kept me away. I wasn’t adding wilds to my established tank.

They could be F something's I guess. But they are totally wild blood for sure. They just have that look to them. I wish you'd been able to buy them.

No worries, took my with Tefe pair three tries to get to the wiggler stage. This gives you time to plan on that next step.

I have been searching for green but they are hard to find. Mac has them but for the time being I am short on enough room to add more fish. You should have no trouble moving your fry when the time comes. I'd be one of those interested. Frank has a good thread going now, Pat supplied the link for you. Please keep the progress of your spawn going. Your fish and your photos are the best.
