Default Male discus and flower pot

I have a proven male discus with a proven female in a tank with a few breeding cones. Nothing has been happening about a week ago I put in a large flower pot and the male discus spends most of his time about a half inch from the pot in the same position for hours on end does this mean he wants the female to lay eggs there

I too wonder about this behavior. I added a unproven male to a breeding tank with a proven female. There is a flower pot in the tank, the male does the same as you describe.

I have a fish that is infatuated with a filter with bubbles coming up.
It laid eggs right next to it last week on the glass.

Males, including discus, are not particular. They'll fertilize wherever the female chose to lay the spawn.
At my age, everything is irritating.

Willie, what is your opinion as to why that male seems to be mesmerized by that flower pot for hours at a time?
