Thanks everyone. Pat, the amount of finnage she has was what was the biggest surprise to me, too. The first time I saw a pic of her from the seller I thought she was a plaket male.

They are both beautiful Liz. Good luck with them. I was always meant to believe that the females had hardly any finnage at all....but that was a long long time ago.
Back in the day, when i was a teenager, i saved my pocket money to buy my first pair with the intentions of breeding them and making a ton of money...that didnt turn out like i planed.
Looking forward to seeing more posts and pictures of their progress.

I bought them with the intention of breeding them, but for now I'm just going to look at them for a while. I worry about being able to sell them although there's always AB, or even here for that matter...It would be very difficult for me to kill half of them just because they're girls, too. I've considered perhaps turning a 100 gallon in the fish room into a sorority tank.

But who knows if I'll even be successful if I try. I've bred Pearl Gouramis before. It can't be much different. But I'd have to pay a lot more attention to these that I did to my Gouramis because they were next to worthless. These Betta's are not.

It would be great to see them breed, but with mum being so pretty i don't think there would be a need to cull them. In the meantime i hope you recieve lots of enjoyment from them both.

Thanks Joe. They say that you should give them a month to let them settle in before you try breeding. I have a while to make a decision.

They are stunning Liz. And they match the color of my Stendker Flachen Discus. Good luck, I sure wouldn't mind a male sometime...

The secret to learning how to fly is this, you must throw yourself at the ground and miss.
