    Default Acclimating Shipped Wild Discus

I am getting 5 Royal Uatuma Blue discus from Snookn21 on Tuesday. John says the pH in the tank is 7.8 and my pH in my tank is 6.6. It seems like too big of a pH difference to just plop and drop but I am worried about ammonia burns if they stay in their bag water for too long while I acclimate them. What would be the best way to acclimate them?

Hi Evenstarms, when discus are shipped overnight the ph in the bag drops into the 6s due to the fish living and peeing in the bag. So do a simple drop and plop. Do not allow the bag water to be exposed to air as this will allow the ph to raise and expose the fish to ammonia burn.
