Enhancing color and other questions.
Hi all, I just picked up 4 red alenquers from freshwater exotics. They are currently in their 55 gallon quarantine tank. Does anyone have any tips on how to get their colors to pop more? I’m looking for that reddish body color and want their blue spots to pop. What type of foods would be best? Would RO water make their colors change? The pH right now is close to 8 with 180tds. When I was talking with FWE they recommenced that I do no medicate them as they have been already medicated twice, once in Brazil and then once again when they got the fish in January. Should I still medicate as a preventative measure? They will be joining my domestics and altums in a 150 gallon eventually. I would love to eventually pair one of them up with my 7 inch rose red male.

From what I read Spirulina is used to enhance blues. In nature, they are abundantly found in blue green algae. you must feed your fish with spirulina rich pellets/flakes consistently. It may take as long as three months before you notice the difference.
