The important aspect to my mind is whether they are hanging in with the eggs longer each time. It took mine 3x but that may have been the pleco’s fault. Took him out after the second attempt.

So the pair spawning in the video is what I call the red eyed pair. The female of that red eyed pair desperately wanted to pair with the royal but the royal only had eyes for the golden eye female. So I "forced" paired her with another male she at least bowed with and they are the ones spawning in the video above.

The red eyed pair spawned last night and had some white eggs but lots more this morning. They didn't do so hot....but they are first timers.

The royal and his gold eyed lady are busy.

God knows, even Pat knows that wilds have a multitude of faults. Wild Discus have their own class at NADA. I've never heard of a wild ever winning BIS anywhere. But there is something so alluring about them. I love your Santaram female. I'm sucker for a brown based wild with a dark halo and, yes Elliot, the electric blue on the head. Takes my breath away.

Thanks Elliot, I think so too and excited about this third spawn. I think they will make excellent parents. The male seems to adore his golden eyed lady. He watches her like a hawk bows to her whenever he can.

Yes Liz, they are alluring and I love my wilds. I am very excited to have these F1s doing what they are doing. I had forgotten how much fun it is watching these guys spar with each other, pair up and spawn.

Hi Liz, Cary suggested lowing the conductivity to 80 and using Formaldehyde 37% 1 drop per gal 1 hour after they lay eggs. He says the Formaldehyde increases hatch rate. I think I will use rooibos tea instead.
