Hello
Hello, Looking forward to learning. We are in the process of setting up a 75 gallon planted tank — mixed substrate: fluorite dark/sand. First discus tank ever. Hoping to make it a community tank featuring a small discus school of maybe 6 or 7. This is for my home office. Now that I’m working from home 100% I need this space to feel relaxing and beautiful. A discus tank will be wonderful living art.
We have a planted 55 gallon community tank we enjoy which features several other South American cichlids including a dwarf pike, a cockatoo cichlid, and a couple of angels.
Have you had success introducing tank mates to your discus tank before getting the discus? Thinking of getting 10 Rummy nose and 10 cardinal tetras and/or perhaps a school hatchetfish? Keeping the heat, etc ideal for discus of course.
