Blood vs. Black vs. Tubifex
I have fed my fish all three types of worms all freeze-dried. I am wondering if there is any information on which is more nutritious for discus or if there is any advantage is feeding more than one type of worm? I have some Al's blackworms on order and I have previously purchased them from California Blackworms.

FREEZE-DRIED FOODS
Many varieties of freeze-dried foods are available. Freeze-dried foods have an advantage because they retain all the nutrients of live food but with out the hassle of keeping live foods. However do not feed exclusively freeze-dried foods as, like live foods, they lack vitamins that can be provided by a good flake food.

Thanks, they also receive a feeding of Tropical Discus Granules D-50 once a day, the fd blackworms that I order are the ones that have added ingredients.

Tubifex has a (well-deserved?) bad reputation for being dirty and filled with nasties. With so many different foods you can offer, why chance it?

Re: Blood vs. Black vs. Tubifex
Tubifex is considered a dangerous food because the worms will live happily in sewage. These days the worms are grown in farms. Any that are collected wild in sewage can be easily purged. I feed them. They are an excellent quality food that the fish love and they are dirt cheap compared to the ones from Australia.

Been feeding tubifex worms for a long time now with no issues ... I do prefer blackworms over them. I like to alternate between FDBW, FDTW(tubifex) and FD brineshrimp everyday.
